Arun Ramanathan, aka Arun R, for obvious reasons, has been a regular fixture in Hong Kong’s nightlife scene for over 10 years.
From the outset he has received critical acclaim and shaken floors through residencies and regular spots at local hotspots such as FINDS, Drop, Gecko, Midnight & Co (formerly Yumla), Zuma, Ozone (Ritz Carlton), Oma and W Hotel.
His musical roots were planted during his early teen years through a gifted set of second-hand drums and random percussion instruments collected during his regular and varied travels. A few years later, he landed himself a pair of low-torque turntables, and everything he has accomplished since has been a progressively upward and forward step in his musical journey.
After stepping into the 90’s club scene in Fukuoka, south-west region in Japan, Taku Hirayama has been on decks since 2000. Relocated himself in Hong Kong in 2006 and has played at most of everywhere in city until 2010. Back to home in Japan and spent for a few years with homies and underground dance music party. In 2012, traveled around SE Asia after seeing total solar eclipse in Australia, decided to come back to HK once again. Mixing up underground disco, house and techno as well as diverse quality music to create deep and hopeful atmosphere on dancefloor.
This young yet experienced artist will ensure that crowds will get cramps the next day from endless booty shaking.
Founder of the infamous underground Rooftop events such as Roofest & Rooﬁsh and working under Cliché Records for 2 years as a Dj/Producer and creative director, he will always have enough tricks up his sleeves to keep the public dancing until the end of the night.
His contact with a lot of the music world and recognized artists help him shape his music to fit most dancefloors, from Disco to House to Funk to Soul.
It does not mean that he has not lived through all the best eras of the 70ʼs to the 80ʼs that he does not know his classics and underground tracks.
Born and raised in Hong Kong Ivan Sit a.k.a. Mr. Sit has been a DJ since 1996 in his hometown, holding residencies in the clubs Dragon-i, KEE Club, Drop and Landmark Mandarin Hotel – Mo Bar. He is notably one of Hong Kong’s top talent.
His wide variety of styles ranges from deep house, nu-disco, broken beat, electronica, soul funk jazz, 70s disco 80s grooves, Latino brazilian afro beats, northern soul, rare grooves to old school electro boogie qualifying him to be highly knowledgeable and well cultured as a DJ. As well as the ability to play in a different variety of styles. He is also known for his collaborations with live musicians, performing with percussionists, vocalists, saxophonists and even rappers.
Barnaby Bruce is a DJ, percussionist and music producer. With extensive experience as a DJ and musician, Barnaby bridges the gap between the nightclub and live music.
As a DJ, Barnaby started out playing and recording on the London dance-music scene in the early 90’s. In recent years, he’s become firmly established in the modern nu-disco scene, recording regularly for Stevie Kotey’s Bear Funk label in London, and with Max Essa (Is It Balearic?, Jansen Jardin) in Tokyo. He launched the vinyl record label Palms & Charms in 2014.
British born Steve Yau moved to Hong Kong in 1994 and has been playing his trademark sound of Disco, Soul Funky, Deep & eclectic. He has held residencies at almost every credible bar or club in Hong Kong, including THE PAWN, KEE CLUB, GECKO LOUNGE, SOLAS, ARMANI/BAR, AQUA SPIRIT, LOST, LINQ, YUMLA, CLUB 97, 1/5, MINK, SODA and The Milk Bar, lncluding 11 years at the legendary DROP.
This is testament to Steve’s ability to deliver week after week. Steve’s private/corporate party client list range from Bloomberg to Fashion brand EVISU. He was a regular DJ for the production group “The House of Siren”. Steve has played alongside many of the world’s top DJs including Sandy Rivera, Norman Jay, ATFC, Brandon Block, The Shapeshifters, The Hoxton Whores, and Stefano Neforini to name just a few.
Recently, a combination of Steve’s Old Skool, Nu Disco, Funky Breaks and Deep House influences and his passion to work a crowd have been blended into an “Upfront Funky Ass Frenzy” creating an electric atmosphere whenever he puts the needle to the record.
